Dissonance and Diversity (Student Colloquium, FS25)
The student colloquium engages core concepts and contemporary dilemmas of Cultural Studies through sustained discussion and collective analysis. As organizer and facilitator, I guide Bachelor students through critical debates on diversity, dissonance, and cultural conflict in the 21st century.
The course explores processes of racialization, racism, and anti-Blackness, as well as the intersections of gender and class in global and local contexts, with a particular focus on Switzerland. Readings combine foundational theoretical texts with contemporary perspectives, ethnographic work, and pop-cultural analysis.
Students develop their own analytical positions through a position paper and oral examination, strengthening critical argumentation and theoretical literacy.
Film Analysis
(Tutorial, FS25–FS26)
In this tutorial, I support introductory courses in film analysis by leading independent discussion groups focused on the close reading of films and theoretical texts.
Students work collaboratively to deepen their understanding of cinematic form, narrative, and visual language, while clarifying key concepts introduced in lectures. The tutorial emphasizes analytical precision, shared interpretation, and the development of a critical vocabulary for film and media analysis.
Everyday Cultures
(Tutorial, HS24–HS25)
This tutorial accompanies introductory courses in Everyday Cultures, focusing on the analysis of social practices, material culture, and everyday forms of meaning-making.
Through guided readings and discussion, students engage with cultural-anthropological perspectives on routine, habit, and the ordinary, learning to connect theoretical concepts with lived experience and empirical observation.
Qualitative Methods
(Tutorial, HS24)
In this methods tutorial, I support courses in qualitative research design, data collection, and analysis. I assist students in applying qualitative methods such as interviewing, observation, and interpretative analysis, and provide structured feedback on written assignments.
The tutorial emphasizes methodological reflection, analytical rigor, and ethical awareness in qualitative research practice.
